If you are cooking and looking for flavours, it is sometimes difficult to get some ingredients. Marcel Petite's Comté is THE star of the region, but it's also exported internationally, spreading its finesse and subtlety far and wide. In 1966, Marcel Petite had the idea of aging Comté in the former military fort of Saint-Antoine. He refined the technique and adapted to the temperature and humidity of the site, building a veritable underground cathedral for Comtois cheese. Other Comtois cheeses are of course also available from this creamery, which is a must-stop on your visit to Pontarlier.

This dairy cooperative produces, matures (in part) and offers its own Comté cheese and products from the local trade. Mild, fruity or aged, the flavours enchant the palate with the rhythm of the maturing process (up to 20 months). Comté cheese but also morbier, cow's cheese rubbed with Jura wine and four spices rub shoulders with Arbois wines, Clerval honey and Mouthier-haute-Pierre beers. Terre comtoise was born of the merger of 3 agricultural cooperatives. If you're familiar with Gamm Vert stores, you'll know that these are the distribution outlets for the cooperative's various products. The stores offer a vast and varied range of products and equipment for the agricultural world and the general public.
