The Praluline, the gourmet treasure of the Pralus House, is a success! This brioche with pink praline chips is very popular. Invented in Roanne by Auguste Pralus in 1955, this little delicacy can be bought on rue Blatin. Its success sometimes requires patience, as it is so much in demand. The artisan chef takes a new approach to classic pastries, with boldness and brio. He plays with flavors: Auvergne blue pear macaroons or fig foie gras. His wedding cakes are original and impressive. Since 1873, the Halle gourmande Saint-Pierre has been an institution, offering meats, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, Auvergne wines, ready-made meals and catering services... Large tables offer tastings of Auvergne, Spanish, Italian and Asian products, as well as ready-made meals from the market's merchants, including the Reines butcher's shop, Eo Viet'Street Foods, Klein d'Alsace, and Istrenn Tavarn oysters. Events and tastings are also organized from time to time.

Founded in 1991 by Limagrain, the Domaine de Limagne is responsible for all the stages, from production to sales. Jean-Fançois Panem, a former breeder, bought the company and runs it with a master's hand. The products come from ducks raised and processed on site. The products are fresh and of high quality: foie gras, confit, duck breast, stuffed neck, terrine... In spite of modern processing techniques, the breeding remains built on a traditional, peasant and artisanal model. The Domaine even offers its products delivered in D + 1, thanks to two slaughters per week.

This tea room, imagined by Eliane Bourdet, opened in 2004, is articulated on two levels. Three hundred varieties of tea are on sale, as well as a beautiful collection of dishes, utensils, furniture and decorative objects. Different areas to sit comfortably make us travel through Asia, through India, China or Japan. We enjoy a cup of tea, infusion or coffee, accompanied by a "homemade" pastry. The long window lets light filter through, giving the place a subdued atmosphere and a feeling of intimacy.

At the beginning of 2019, the Art Nouveau boutique of Boulangerie Moderne reopened its doors thanks to Ophélie Maillot and Maxime Boishardy. She studied management, he is a baker: the duo is a perfect match! From baguettes to sandwiches, including seasonal recipes, from croissants to fruit tarts, everything is homemade, with responsible flours and AOP butter. Originally from Brittany, Maxime offers kouign-amann on his menu. Everything can be taken away in a bag or a reusable box, in order to limit the environmental impact.

For over a century, La Ruche Trianon has been famous for its Belle Epoque façade. An old store, but modern pastries. The creations are supervised by the artisan pastry chef and chocolatier Thierry Constant. Among the specialties of the house: the Devil's Sins (dark chocolate, milk ganache flavored with blood orange and ginger), Volcania (dark chocolates with hazelnut, raspberry and rum flavors), gentian chocolates, entremets, other creations. The house has a second point of sale in the Aubière area.

It is to wonder if the nougat would not be born in Auvergne. Paul Lopez, grandson of a pastry chef, has used his creativity and talent to offer an exceptional nougat, made with good products: lavender honey, almonds from Provence, pistachios from Sicily... The nougats are tender and tasty. Some of them won an Epicure d'or in 2016 and 2018. The latest, L'Harmonie, mixes matcha, goji berries and puffed buckwheat. This young Clermont-Ferrand native is developing other gourmet recipes like old-fashioned macaroons (Epicure d'argent 2017).

Many varieties of bread, kneaded in the early morning, are offered in the two addresses in the town centre and in Aubière. The famous Saint-Esprit baguette is in great demand, but there are also rye, seven-grain, olive oil and strawberry breads. At lunchtime, Le Fournil offers sandwiches, toast and salads. For more than 20 years, Auvergne Prim has been providing quality service and products. In the heart of the Halle gourmande Saint-Pierre, the greengrocer welcomes you with colorful stalls of fruits, vegetables and herbs in season. Some aromatic herbs are also sold in pots to better maintain them at home! The products are mostly of French origin, but not only. You will also find exotic varieties: limes, melons from Guadeloupe... On order, you can also leave with beautiful baskets: a great idea for an original gift! Ideally located along the main road through Ceyrat, the Taillandier butcher shop attracts with its well-stocked and nicely presented stalls. Meat cuts, brochettes, cold cuts and dishes prepared by the butcher Franck will brighten your tables and delight your taste buds. The meats are of quality: the poultries are for example all raised in the open air. The welcome is friendly and the advice is good. A catering service offers aperitifs and menus. It had been more than a year since there was a real fish market in downtown Clermont-Ferrand, apart from supermarkets. Thierry Luet has fortunately taken over from the Roux family at the Halle gourmande Saint-Pierre. He offers on his stall high quality fish and shellfish, 95% of which come from French fisheries, as well as homemade delicatessen products made from fresh products, of course! Vieillard is an institution in Clermont-Ferrand, in operation since 1781. At the beginning of the ^20th century, it was no longer owned by the family, but the traditions were perpetuated and the handiwork remained the same. Maison Cromarias, already established for three generations in Montferrand, opens a second address at the foot of the cathedral. Nicolas Brugerolles is a graduate of the Chamalières cooking school. He joined Georges Blanc's team, then Jean-Michel Lorrain's, before sharing his skills with chef Jean-Claude Leclerc in Clermont-Ferrand. He doesn't use frozen doughnuts, but instead makes his own, using local produce whenever possible. You knew the Bienvenue à la ferme network? Here is the store of farm and local products in short circuit. The concept is the same: to put forward the local producers by proposing this time their harvests and productions. In the store, pleasantly arranged, we find different stalls. The corner of the local fruits and vegetables, the one of the butchery, the one of the cheese factory or the one of the bulk. How does it work? Luke, an itinerant barista who travels the countryside with his sidecar motorcycle to bring us exceptional coffees, has created a new living space: the Wheely Café. Formerly occupied by Chazal Café, it now houses a roasting workshop for specialty coffees, a coffee shop and a showroom for the finest coffee machines and accessories. The delicious Dammann Frères products have their own store downtown thanks to Jia Rolland. She knows Dammann Frères teas and infusions well.
