Jean and Jeremy run a store dedicated to 100% ethical products for the aperitif. Their commitment: to offer quality products, to favor organic, reasoned, local or at least French products. You can buy peanuts in bulk, spreads, chips from Aveyron, lemonades from Vercors... but also wines, beers and spirits. The two companions propose trays to compose with cheeses, delicatessen, dried fruits and chips, nicely presented in big spruce boxes made for them by a craftsman of the Jura.

In this authentic bakery, bread and pastries are baked on site, over a wood fire. Their incomparable taste appeals to top restaurateurs. Behind the small shop window you'll find traditional baguettes, farmhouse breads, viennoiseries and other desserts, such as the lemon meringue éclair. We recommend the organic Chadrat flour bread, the rye bread or the "tordu", on sale at the end of the day. Sylvie is always ready to welcome you with a smile. The bakery has also opened in Royat. During the festive season, it's best to order in advance.

The large window opening onto the street is a real eye-catcher. Behind it are breads, cakes and pastries. The long line that regularly snakes around the front is worthy of all the gastronomic reviews. The opening of the outlet is a renaissance and an opportunity for the bakery to develop its own creations, such as petit paillasse with wild garlic, or bread made with sourdough and organic (low-gluten) petit épeautre flour. Upstairs is a pastry-making laboratory, which now takes pride of place among the artisan breads.

The cheese shop is a reference in downtown. Kindness, discretion and sound advice are their watchwords! Let yourself be surprised by the cheeses selected by Olivier the owner, valuing the maturing, the farm products and the raw milk. Don't hesitate to compose your own cheese platter. The place also has a rich wine cellar with affordable prices. Taste on the spot a platter of about ten cheeses, accompanied by fresh or dried fruits and small vegetables to crunch: the ideal to share a beautiful moment between friends.

If the diversity of local products found there (honey, sausage, lentils, eggs, craft beer, etc.) could allow us to qualify this cheese shop as a grocery store, it is indeed the cheese that is at the centre of attention and for good reason. Lizette has been working with cheese since she was 16 years old and she knows her stuff. Her advice is accurate and valuable, her explanations are clear and she never hesitates to offer a little tasting. Her good humour is a pleasure to see and her cheeses, coming directly from local producers, are delicious.

Cruzilles perpetuates the tradition of Auvergne's master confectioners in the production of its fruit jellies and candied fruits. Since 1880, the confectionery has cultivated a unique savoir-faire, with a strong emphasis on natural, preservative-free products, with a few organic references. Innovation is as present as tradition, notably with Dés Lisses®, born of the desire to offer a less sweet product to leave more room for fruit. With this novelty, the company is evolving with the times and bringing confectionery up to date.

At the foot of the Puy de Dôme, you'll find an area dedicated to the region's products, with large stalls of Auvergne cheeses, as well as a vast selection of wines, beers, spirits, confectionery, cured meats, crafts, books... Saint-nectaire is matured on site in the cellar (AOP Auvergne cheese). Charcuterie and cheese platters are also available to order. Ample parking and prices no higher than those charged by supermarkets make this a stopover of choice.

The Giraudon family has had agriculture in its blood for 4 generations. They work the land in Vertaizon, but it is in Clermont-Ferrand, not far from the Place de Jaude, that they have decided to open their shop. In their store, you can find of course their productions of tasty vegetables and fruits, among which their strawberries grown in the open ground or their asparagus. The place also gives pride of place to products from the Massif Central or the Rhone Valley: P'A Cantal sausages, tomatoes from the Bouches du Rhone, 100% Auvergne Mozzarella... Something to enjoy!

It is in the commercial center of La Rotonde that we find the Intermarché store of Ceyrat. If from the outside the building looks different, while integrating well in the environment, inside it is pleasant, spacious and clear. Brice Meunier, director of the supermarket, makes it a point of honor to work with local producers. In the shelves, customers will find many products from Auvergne. The products, chosen with care, are of high quality and the flavors are perfect. Real craftsmen are in charge of the fresh produce departments.

Martial Ray is a master pastry chef and chocolate maker. His specialties are the cloud of Puy-de-Dôme, a meringue with honey, hazelnuts and almonds, homemade marshmallows and fruit jellies. He also makes a whole range of chocolate sweets, including the Andésite, with 75% dark chocolate and old-fashioned hazelnut praline, rolled in bitter cocoa. Delicious desserts will leave you with unforgettable memories, such as the Ebène with dark chocolate, praline and hazelnut crunch. In Le Cendre, the store has a laboratory and a tea room.

Founded by two friends in professional reconversion, Mélody Humbert and Maxime Bejot, who have become self-taught brewers, the microbrewery has already made a good place for itself on the shelves already full of beers from Auvergne. Blonde, IPA, Stout, Pale Ale, and even some original and ephemeral productions, are available in organic stores, in some bars and restaurants, on markets, but also in direct sales. To distinguish the brand, follow the origami bird that decorates the bottles! Inside, you will find only the essential ingredients for making a beer, from organic farming. This true ethical choice gives an additional flavor.

The Boucherie Gauthier takes place in the well named street of the Butchery since 1994! The house is known and appreciated by the Clermontois. Expect sometimes a long queue. You will find fine fattened beef from Mézenc, poultry from Bresse, suckling lamb from the Pyrenees Axuria and salted meadows, pigs from Bigorre and the Basque Country and even more exotic meats such as Wagyu beef from Japan. The quality of the selected meats is recognized by the great tables of the country and the starred chefs of the capital. The house also offers butcher's preparations, artisanal charcuterie, prepared dishes and a selection of delicatessen products.

Founded in the ^mid-19th century, Distillerie Génestine will rise from the ashes in 2021 thanks to Sébastien Jolivet. Its flagship product is a reinterpretation of the liqueur Le Gaulois. Now an Italian-style vintage vermouth in the ^21st century, it is accompanied by a new range of spirits: a jet 31 with organic peppermint, a limoncello with the taste of lemon leaves, a pastis with gentian, not forgetting 1845 Elixir, made from 80 plants and spices. The bottles proudly bear the figure of Vercingétorix, as imagined by Auguste Bartholdi.

L'Eau vive is well known by natural products lovers. Large staircase, glass elevator, local products highlighted... it's a nice place to find everything organic for everyday life. The store offers a delicatessen corner, bulk products, fresh products, a wine cellar, seasonal fruits and vegetables, cleaning products, etc. The wellness area is well stocked: naturopathy, food supplements, cosmetics are available. The bread section is a treat with its natural leavening with a nutty taste. The establishment is also a depot for the baskets of Biau Jardin, an association of integration through organic market gardening. Since 2017, the adventure continues with a second store in Aubière.

Every Sunday, the people of Clermont-Ferrand meet at Place Gambetta - better known as Place des Salins - to bargain. The exhibitors, professionals and individuals, are there and the good deals are always present. Next to the market, there are also stalls selling fruit and vegetables, bread, cheese, meat and fish, as well as many ready-made dishes to enjoy at lunchtime. A real market worthy of the name! To exhibit, it is advisable to reserve 15 days in advance.

Looking for good wine and good advice? Head for Grand Passage Blatin! You'll find a wide selection of wines from all regions of France and beyond, spirits and liqueurs from Auvergne and the Loire, Champagnes and more. Among the bottles, you'll also find delicatessen products such as spreads, bottles of olive oil and Haute-Loire sausages. On the last Fridays and Saturdays of the month, from 3pm to 7pm, the establishment offers a tasting session.

The cellar is located on the same street as Delirium Café, a must for beer lovers. The shelves display hundreds of varieties: local, Belgian, English, New Zealand, North American... The house also rents beer taps. L'Empire du Malt is a wholesaler with more than 500 references of French and international beers, 40 references of kegs, and is a partner of the Grizzly microbrewery and the Le Brew pub, neighbors of the Brézet store. Other stores and bars are located in Gerzat and Mozac: a real empire!
