French-Algerian-born Karima Benabid has just opened her patisserie, La Jonquille de Numidie, in Clermont-Ferrand. Here, she reinterprets the flavours of her childhood with dozens of sweet treats made from emblematic Algerian pastry ingredients such as almonds, semolina, honey and orange blossom. And to perfect her art, she trained at the best Algerian pastry school. The stalls in her store are as beautiful and colorful as the cakes taste. Service is friendly and courteous.
