It is more or less a carbon copy of the Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, the famous bar where Hemingway used to come to drink his mojitos. Except that the Santa Clara version has much more space. The mojitos are good and highly recommended, but Bodeguita del Medio is also, without a doubt, one of the best places to eat in town. Classic Cuban dishes, well made and at a good price, are indeed served in the room after the bar (take a little sweater, the air-conditioning is on full blast!)

Established in 1976, Basil's Bar & Restaurant was voted one of the ten best bars in the world in 1987 by Newsweek, and has made a name for itself. The atmosphere is always top-notch (musical evenings) and the cocktails tasty. It was completely renovated in 2018. On the food front, you'll find fresh fish, seasonal lobster and the best burger in the Caribbean. Every year, this establishment hosts the only blues festival in the Caribbean. Every Friday evening, it organizes a barbecue party. An absolute must.

A veritable cult venue in Fort-de-France, the Hôtel l'Impératrice boasts a fine dining experience in its Joséphine restaurant. Its menu could make your head spin, so tasty is its Creole cuisine. The dining room opens onto local furniture in precious woods, with a magnificent parquet floor on the floor and pastel colors on the walls. A sober, elegant decor. Inside, you will enjoy the giant screen that broadcasts all the major sporting events. Then it's time to eat one of the great dishes on the menu. Whether it's a European dish or a typical Dominican one, all the products are fresh and reasonably priced. Tip: go at noon to eat the daily special, which is always from the local morning market.
