It took two years of work to transform the Museum of Prehistory (created in 1952) into a museum of art and archaeology. 3,500 objects from the excavations carried out in the surrounding scrublands, most of them dating from the Neolithic period, are displayed in twelve themed showcases. There are flint and bone tools, ceramics, arrows, etc., as well as a variety of other objects. Projected films explain how they were made and a touch screen displays clips.

Situated at 988 metres above sea level, this lookout reveals a superb view of the Espinouse, a wild landscape dug from deep ravines: on the right, Aret mountain on the left, the two Rocheux of Aret.

This dense set of beech, fir and spruce forms a thick coat that covers the plateau of the Espinouse. Corsica's sheep live in this forest, but it is quite difficult to see them.

The road leads to the western flank of the Espinouse, in a site with Mediterranean vegetation - vineyards, olive trees, green oaks and chestnut trees. At an altitude of 971 metres, the Fontfroide Pass is the dividing line of the waters, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Nice views.

From the pass, the view extends to the southwest on the Somail Mountains, back from the Ravin ravine. The landscaped gazebo offers an even larger panorama towards the south towards the Jaur valley.

Only a few kilometres from Montpellier, the seaside resort of Palavas-les-Flots is a must on the coast. Very lively in summer, the village organizes many festivities specific to the region and its history, the arenas serve as a backdrop for some of them. Behind their walls, the public will be able to contemplate a series of ferias. But that's not all! Thanks to its sound, the place also hosts many concerts and shows. This millennial tree is a true natural monument, witness to the rigorous local climate.

This beautiful massif offers vast flattened and wild expanses, in the manner of a causse. Here and there, puechs enliven the landscape. The vegetation, mostly dry and arid, unfolds large areas of lawns scented with thyme and juniper. This crossing is also an opportunity to admire what remains of an agrarian era that is now over. The ruins of sheepfolds, dry stone walls, capitelles as well as imposing farmhouses are as many testimonies. At the top, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Sète and the Thau lagoon.

The origin of the name of this rocky rock was that it was through this natural passage that we could descend from the Larzac by taking a route cut in the rock. Culminating at 616 meters above sea level, the Pas de l 'Escalette has long been a simple mule road. Although it has a breathtaking view of the Lergue waterfalls, the proximity to the A 75 motorway removes a little charm from the place.

The Plage des Trois Digues is undoubtedly the most sportive beach on the coast: kite-surfing, SUP surfing, bodyboarding, there are something for all tastes and age groups.
