Founded in 2016, this young estate is the fruit of the union of the Hirsinger family and Maison Jean Freudenreich. Daniel Hirsinger, his sister Catherine and Raphaël Marchal run their biodynamic estate to produce organic wines rooted in their terroir with minimal inputs in both vineyard and cellar. A visit to the cellar, lined with light wood panelling and housed in a new building on the edge of the vineyards, also clad in wood, is a must. The founder of this artisanal distillery is creatively inspired by beautiful ancestral practices. Located in a beautifully renovated barn, the distillery has a sublime still designed especially for it. Florian Gil distills 100% Alsatian gin in 3 versions: Pin Up Wings (gold medal at the Lyon 2020 International Competition), Rose des Vents (Alsatian juniper and saffron) and Super Broussard (coriander, citrus, thyme and rosemary). Clos Saint Imer owes its name to the patron saint of Gueberschwihr. In 1934, Ernest Burn undertook the restoration of this historic vineyard overlooking the Grand Cru Goldert area, which produces a highly aromatic Muscat. Today, Francis Burn produces cuvées that certainly offer the best price/pleasure ratio in Alsace. We appreciate the Pinot Gris Le Dauphin Vieilles Vignes 2019, Gilbert & Gaillard Gold Medal winner. The Heitzmann family has been cultivating vines for six generations of passionate winegrowers. Situated in the heart of Ammerschwihr, the Léon Heitzmann estate extends over almost 12 hectares of vines, including plots on the Kaefferkopf and Schlossberg Grands Crus. The entire vineyard has been cultivated organically (AB Ecocert) since 2006 and biodynamically (Demeter) since 2008. The estate vinifies all the Alsatian grape varieties. In the charming tasting cellar, you will be able to taste a delicious Muscat d'Alsace Vieilles Vignes 2017, a superb Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Kaefferkopf 2017, or a tender and aromatic Crémant d'Alsace Rosé. The Heitzmann's have also extended their estate by adding a few hectares (for rent) of the Klur Vineyard. They now offer the famous "Gentil de Katz" (a blend of pinot blanc, pinot gris, gewurztraminer) and "Voyou de Katz" (a blend of riesling, sylvaner and muscat), as well as the entire range of Klur wines.

7 grape varieties vinified on 7 ha "with heart and hands". Thierry Schneider has obtained HVE certification and converted his estate to organic viticulture. In the old cellar, the winemaker welcomes you amidst his old oak tuns. This estate is getting a new look as it converts to organic farming in 2020 following its HVE certification. Decorated with a graceful poppy, the new labels set the tone. Taste the Tribu 2020 vintage, a natural orange wine without maceration with a nose of orange peel, or its cousin Inca 2021 (gewurztraminer, sylvaner). Deliciously aromatic, the Riesling Grand Cru Osterberg 2020 and the barrel-aged Pinot Noir 2021 are crushed the old-fashioned way.

This association of about fifty winegrowers embodies the young guard of the Alsatian wine industry. Its 4 founding principles are: to be under 40 years old, to be independent, to practice sustainable viticulture, to promote "local wines". Félix Meyer, ancestor of the Félix who runs the estate today, emigrated from Switzerland to Katzenthal in 1732. Today, the 18.5 hectares of vines are on the Grands Crus Wineck-Schlossberg, Kaefferkopf, Furstentum, Sporen and Schoenenbourg, as well as several lieux-dits. In James Suckling's Top 100 Alsace wines is this spearhead of organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Demeter) viticulture. Founded in 1725, it brings together on 23 hectares a mosaic of rich terroirs in Grand Cru appellation (Schlossberg, Hengst, Goldert, Brand). There is, for example, a magnificent Riesling Le Vin du Jardin 2021 (a must with oysters or sauerkraut) and a sublime Muscat " Le Chant des Oiseaux " 2022 : powerful and greedy, a marvel with spring asparagus. Riesling "Streng" 2020, Pinot Gris "Rimelsberg" 2020 (rated 15.5/20 - Revue du Vin de France), Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Sporen 2018 ( Bettane & Desseauve selection), Crémant "BZ" Blanc de Blanc. Curiosity: the orange wine "Renard et la Lune Rouge" without added sulfites. In the vineyard, parcels of Grands Crus are carefully tended: ploughing by animal traction, manual harvest. The Domaine du Windmuehl produces the 7 Alsatian grape varieties. Our heart swings between the Muscat (floral and crisp), the Riesling Vieilles Vignes (elegant and racy), the Pinot Noir Terroir du Haut-Koenigsbourg (greedy, aged in barrels) and the Gewurztraminer Instant Emotion (very opulent). The Rosé du Windmuehl and the Crémant d'Alsace Brut are the kings of the aperitif. Good to know: two comfortable gîtes (4 persons) and guest rooms (2 persons) welcome tourists wishing to explore the Wine Route. They offer a breathtaking view of the vineyard.

Catherine at the gîtes and her husband Thierry at the vineyards. This very nice couple will welcome you as it should be! The originality of the domain? It is an old flour mill in which very good wines are produced today. On his terroirs, Thierry produces classic and pleasant wines like the Pinot Gris Grand Cru Mambourg 2016 fragrant and fruity or the Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives Grand Cru Mambourg 2016, sweet and complex. As for the gîtes, the three maintained by Catherine are cosy and welcoming for a relaxing stay.

Located in the heart of Eguisheim in a beautiful ^17th century house, this estate offers the whole range of Alsace wines, including crémants and late harvest. Its 15 ha are spread over the terroirs of the Grands Crus Eichberg, Pfersigberg and Ollwiller. In AB since 2001, the grapes are harvested by hand and long fermentations are practiced. Elegant guest rooms and a gîte allow you to prolong the pleasure of wine tasting in a warm setting.

Nathalie and François Lichtlé offer you good wines from Alsace, France and elsewhere. More than a thousand references of wines, but also rums and whiskies, beers and Alsatian brandies. The Baur family cultivates 17 hectares of vines mainly on the slopes of Eguisheim, the Grands Crus Brand, Eichberg and Pfersigberg and the localities Holzweg and Fronenberg. The yields are moderate and the production is harvested by hand. After sorting, the grapes are pressed in a pneumatic press for several hours. This produces excellent wines, including Gewurztraminer and Muscat Grand Cru Eichberg. Beautiful eaux-de-vies are created from the organic fruits of the orchard. The estate is run by Armand and his son Arnaud, an oenologist.
