This small restaurant offers delicious and very hearty dishes of the day that you can accompany with a glass of wine. We find traditional Chilean specialties based on seafood, fish and mutton. Of course, the famous curanto is also present as well as the paila marina with chilli sauce.The portions are particularly pantagruelic: in the kitchen, for sure, you don't go with the back of the spoon, and you can frankly share a dish for two. Vegetarian options are also available.

This is definitely one of our favorites! Chef Tatiana offers very good dishes of Chilean nouvelle cuisine. The flavours are creative and Tatiana's culinary inspiration can be felt at first glance: the plates are beautiful and the dishes wonderfully presented. The menu is short, a sign of freshness and quality, and works with local products, mainly meat and fish. Good atmosphere (the setting is really well thought out, with sofas and a fireplace) and a good meeting point for a top-of-the-range dinner.

The pizzas are very good (fortunately they don't skimp on cheese!) the local specialities, such as salmon or hake are there and most of the dishes are homemade. A safe bet in the heart of the city.

It blows a wind of novelty on Puerto Rio Tranquilo! Opened in 2017, it's the best table in the village! Located on the edge of the village, this restaurant will seduce the taste buds in need of tenderness. Claudio offers local cuisine and brings his personal touch to the classic dishes of the region. Ceviche, lamb, risotto, salmon tartar... everything is delicious, especially the Merluza Austral (hake) and the chocolate mousse with dulce de leche. Finally, we appreciate the warm decoration with ethnic accents. A tasty cuisine at a reasonable price.

In short, one of our favorite places in Puerto Varas thanks to its multicultural atmosphere and the concerts sometimes on weekends. The nostalgic ones will drink a pastis there! The rendezvous for all carnivores: here you can eat the best meat in Latin America! It's definitely the best place to eat in Puerto Montt. We tried the lomo vetado, and we still can't get over it: it is indeed a delight! Also try the filet or lomo liso. It's melt-in-the-mouth and divinely cooked. Plus, the concept is nice: you choose what you want and adjust to the weight. Excellent welcome and service, under the leadership of South African Jeremy, in a sublime setting overlooking the bay.

It's a pity that the service is sometimes one tone down and the music is sometimes a little too loud. It remains one of the city's good addresses and a good stopover for those who would like to treat their taste buds to fresh fish and Asian flavours. This charming little address, located at the landing stage, will allow you to enjoy a snack before jumping on the ferry. You will enjoy hot drinks, pastries, empanadas and kuchen, those sweet cakes of German origin. The coffees are really delicious and the place pays special tribute to him: just look at the decoration. Very recent, but already emblematic, this restaurant makes almost a faultless achievement thanks to its gourmet meals and cosy atmosphere. The staff is attentive, the cuisine creative and refined. On the program, soups, sandwiches, salads, ceviche and typical dishes such as trucha rellena, costilla de cerdo, or salmon ravioli (exquisite!). Good selection of artisanal wines and beers. A taste experience at a very good value for money. The only downside is that the service can be very slow, so make sure you have some time to spare!

A large bar-restaurant which is quite new but which is already enjoying great popularity given the number of locals and foreigners who flock there every evening to drink a homemade beer or taste one of the many Italian-patagon dishes. The building can accommodate more than a hundred people and is ideally located on the lake. Dynamic and friendly service, we often stay longer than expected. On the other side of the bridge, in western Castro, you'll find this highly gourmet and original address. Directly inspired by Peruvian cevicherias, the restaurant's gastronomic offering revolves around raw fish and shellfish preparations, without neglecting the chilota tradition. A few Japanese-inspired fusion recipes round out the offering of this warm and inviting place. Desserts are also well thought-out, as are the cocktails, featuring local liqueurs in particular.

Run by a family from Santiago who fell in love with the region, this small cafeteria has won national culinary competitions several times. On the road to the volcano, you won't miss this cosy restaurant all in volcanic stone and cosy interior. We serve a tasty and different gastronomy based on game: deer, roe deer, wild boar or wild rabbit, the menu is nice! More basic dishes such as soups and pizzas are also available. An ideal break after a long day on the slopes. We particularly appreciate the setting, both inside - carpets made of animal skins and fireplaces - and outside, with the view of the forest and the volcano.

This restaurant is still new and has a nice setting (wood, portholes...) and offers a varied menu and local flavours. The dishes are relatively copious and good value for money (fish, seafood, barbecued meats, etc.). A lot of locals meet for lunch: normal, the menu is really cheap. It's a perfect fit because there are dishes for all tastes and budgets. However, we recommend more meat, fish and seafood that sometimes lack flavour.

As its name suggests, this small restaurant with its rustic atmosphere and architecture (wooden slices and pebbles on the walls) offers very good wood-fired pizzas, lamb in all its forms, salmon, pasta and sandwiches. The dishes are homemade and relatively copious. The good news is that the kitchen closes late (sometimes until 1am), so this is the address to remember for freshly landed and particularly hungry travellers! The music playlist is nice, you can even make your own suggestions!

Not really typical because it is brand new, this market offers on the first floor fish shops that flatter the eyes of greedy travelers: huge conger eels and giant crabs in season, but also ceviches in trays for a cheap price. On the second floor, a few small restaurants offer seafood (around $5,000 a dish), including chupe de centolla. Finally, on the top floor, the Vistamar restaurant offers a more varied and elaborate menu, with a beautiful view of the waterfront. A touristy place but very nice.

And El Chejo himself finally sits down with you to taste a local liqueur... Every Sunday lunchtime, we serve the famous curanto al hoyo for a modest price. A typical and picturesque address just the way we like it!

El Camino is a veritable institution, where backpackers and visitors returning from expeditions come together to share a cold beer and a deliciously nourishing high-calorie burger in a rocking atmosphere. This intimate and warm, yet somewhat off-centre restaurant is also a workshop and cooking school in its spare time. We offer succulent traditional Chilean dishes (pastel de centolla, machas a la parmesana, ciervo...) in a charming and divinely typical setting! They produce a delicious homemade beer, but you can also choose the pisco sour which also convinced us. One of the best addresses in the area, the service is attentive, the cuisine is local and the setting is quite pleasant.

The seafood at this restaurant is particularly popular and is the cheapest curanto in the city. Taste the centolla, giant crab or spider crab, a condensed blend of flavours made in Chiloé! There is also carapacho: a delicious stew cooked directly in the shell of the seafood. In addition to seafood specialties, you can choose more typical dishes and empanadas. The prices are more than reasonable, the portions rather generous and the attention particularly friendly.

In a beautiful setting combining the charm of Chilean houses (all wooden with a facade reminiscent of fish scales) with modernity (large windows, bay windows, lights ...). This well-established restaurant has been serving fish and seafood specialties for over 30 years: the decor has not changed... and neither has the cuisine! The dishes are made with local products and with a Chilean touch, of course. You will taste good and very generous traditional recipes: cazuela de cordero, merluza austral, congrio a la plancha (a kind of eel typically Chilean...a delight!). Finally,even if the service can be a little long from time to time, it is still worth the wait!

The cooking is perfect and the meat tasty. Grilled salmon with mustard is also very good. Save a place for desserts! We recommend chocolate waffles or the famous "Maga Cup" (vanilla ice cream, caramel, chocolate and whipped cream). An address by the fire, friendly and definitely for the viandards! This resto-bar offers a nice decoration and a well filled menu. The owner settled here more than 20 years ago after many trips to Europe, the atmosphere is definitely young and international. From spring rolls to Mexican burritos, passing by the Greek salad, the dishes are cosmopolitan, copious and served with a smile. The menu is reasonably priced, but don't expect high gastronomy: it remains simple and correct. Note also that it is one of the only gayfriendly places in the area.

Here, the atmosphere is calmer, the dishes are good and hearty and the menu is rather varied. The dishes are homemade and the menu is really cheap for the good portions they offer: try to go there for lunch, you'll eat well and your wallet will thank you! Try the succulent paila marina: here, this soup of crustaceans, molluscs and fish in a Chilean sauce is accompanied by a piece of smoked pork and sausages. Otherwise all the fish is delicious, well sauced and seasoned. A good plan for small budgets.

The whole remains correct although we sometimes regret the portions that may be small.

Both the hungry and the thirsty will have something to salivate over: different pasta options, soups, sandwiches, home-made beers, delicious pastries. You can enjoy quality dishes with generous portions and lively music: did you know that there was a Latino version of "Voyage Voyage"? (for the more curious, it is called "Vuela Vuela" and the staff of the restaurant loves it!)
