The estate was purchased in 1896 by Marius Rey, the great grandfather of the current owner Jacques Lefebvre, who decided in 1975 to rehabilitate the vineyard. Very attached to the vines and the old stones of this area in which he grew up, his son, Didier, now intends to ensure the continuity of family know-how, while further developing the wine-growing processes specific to organic farming. The wines of the Bégude castle obtained biological certification in 2013. With passion, the Lefebvre family surrounds the care of old Provençal varieties. Red wines come from exclusively manual harvesting and are unique to be vinified in whole bunches in old oak cuvons. They are well handled, long guard and are naturally aged in old barrels of merrain oak. White whites are also fermented in oak barrels and then kept for some time in the same barrels until they are bottled. The rosés come from fresh harvest where grapes are égrappés, entrepreneurs and fermented at low temperatures.
