Not far from the airport, between Maó and the first steep slopes of the town of Alaior, the hamlet of Sant Climent may be small but it's not lacking in charm. Its unique legal status - as both an outlying district of Maó and a Menorcan town in its own right - was decided in 1817 by the then Bishop of Menorca. The town takes its name from the chapel dedicated to Saint Clement. In addition to typical bars and restaurants, the surrounding area boasts a number of interesting heritage sites, including the Talayotic village of Talatí and Mussuptà, as well as the Basilica of Fornàs.
