Llucmaçanes is a small village located halfway between Menorca airport and Maó. Here you'll find beautiful, typically Menorcan houses, mostly occupied by foreigners who've fallen in love with the incredible Mediterranean light and a quieter way of life. There are officially 200 residents here. It's worth noting that the village streets are festive when the patron saint's day (Sant Gaietà) is celebrated on August 4. The village giants (a Catalan tradition also found in the Balearic Islands, where every municipality has its own papier-mâché giants) perform their dance in a joyous and cheerful atmosphere!
