When you leave the port of Maó, follow the road to La Mola and take the first left. From the village, built on a promontory, you can reach the Cala de Sa Mesquida and its 300-metre long white sandbank. The beach is very busy in summer, especially in August, and the parking lot has a limited capacity (early arrival is recommended!). To the right of the beach is a ledge on top of which are the remains of an English defence tower built in 1799, while to the left is a 50-metre high promontory called Es Pa Gros, a fantastic viewpoint over the cala and its surroundings.
