Dominated by the highest point of Mount Galičica, the Magaro peak (2,255 m above sea level), this fishing village is nicknamed "Saint-Tropez" because the two names sound a bit alike and because it's the pearl of the "Lake Ohrid Riviera". The pebble beach and crystal-clear water are very popular in summer. Excursion boats or kayaks can also be hired to discover beaches that are inaccessible by road, such as the completely isolated Mother-of-God chapel in Zahumska (14th-century frescoes). It's also the starting point for the 27 km mountain road through the Galičica National Park between Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa. Crossing the Galičica pass, at an altitude of 1,660 m, you can enjoy superb views of the two lakes and Albania. From here, you can also reach the Magaro peak on foot via a not too difficult hiking trail.
