Polcenigo is one of the Borghi più Belli d'Italia and owes this distinction not only to the charm of its few cobbled streets but also to its natural environment. Here are the springs of the Livenza River, which flows from the depths of the earth and crosses this village in the Alpine foothills. The springs of the Gorgazzo, a tributary of the Livenza, offer the spectacle of crystalline waters with turquoise reflections emerging from a karstic cave. In the territory of Polcenigo there is the Palù di Livenza, one of the 111 prehistoric palaeolithic sites in the Alps that have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011.
