Travel Guide Alpago

At the foot of the Alps, between the Piave river and the Carnia plateau in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Alpago region is worth a visit for the beauty of its landscape. Villages such as Pieve d'Alpago, Tambre and Farra d'Alpago have preserved intact the architecture of the traditional rustic dwellings built in the 15th and 16th centuries, made of stone with a stepped roof, typical of the area. The area of Alpago has known periods of massive emigration, especially in the last century. Today, the population occupies the bottom of the valley, between Belluno and Longarone.
