Vittorio Veneto is located between the lakes of Revine and Val Lapisina, on the slopes of the Pre-Alps. The present town was born from the union of Serravalle, originally a Ghibelline county, with the Guelph Ceneda, seat of the count-bishop. They were already important towns in the Middle Ages. They are very rich in palaces and monuments that date back to medieval times and the Renaissance. In 1866 the city was dedicated to the Italian king Vittorio Emanuele II (from where it takes its name) and it remains famous for the last battle of the First World War. Here you can visit the Battle Museum, rich in objects and documents of the Great War, and the S. Martino Castle, from the Lombard period.
