This Unesco-listed village is a leap back in time. Located in the heart of the island of Corfu, surrounded by churches and nestled beneath the island's highest mountains, "Palea Perithia" or "Old" Peritheia is set in beautiful countryside overlooking the sea. To reach the site (also known as Haut Perithia), start from Kassiopi and drive 12 km. You can follow the mountain road to Mount Pantokrator (from Kassiopi to Acharavi) by car - but parking spaces are limited - or treat yourself to an incredible walk through the lush surrounding countryside. The A12 line also takes you there several times a day.
