14 kilometers from Corfu. A little way off the coast, this is one of the island's most beautiful villages. 5 km to the northwest, Ano Korakiana boasts no fewer than 37 churches and chapels. But if you stop here, it's often to eat. At least, if you're lucky enough to have a reservation at Etrusco, considered one of Greece's finest restaurants and already voted as such. Italian chef Ettore Bortini, who is married to a Corfiote woman, revisits Ionian cuisine with great gusto. A former hotel, the Castellino, houses part of the collection of Athens' National Gallery of Modern Art. A themed exhibition is now held here every summer.
