The beautiful oval of Bodufushi is surrounded by a perfectly symmetrical turquoise lagoon. The island stretches over 320 meters in length and 180 meters in width. It welcomed its first visitors in November 2021, who came to discover a brand new concept in the Maldives. The Joali group, which owns another ultra-luxury hotel a little further north in the Raa atoll, is developing a hotel version entirely dedicated to well-being. It promises its visitors to leave inspired and stimulated after a relaxation, detox or slimming cure. The programs are designed to last between 5 days and 3 weeks and have been developed by Gerry Bodeker, an Australian champion of integrative medicine, which combines traditional and alternative medicine. The programs focus on 4 distinct parts of the body: skin, microbiome, energy and mind. Naturopaths, nutritionists, dieticians and yogis complement the treatment programs with their expertise. The treatments exploit all the senses and original spaces have been invented to soothe them to the maximum. The hydrotherapy hall includes a Russian banya, a sauna and a special room that anihilates the senses. The Seda is a room dedicated to auditory therapy. The architecture has been designed to amplify sounds and vibrations. The Aktar is a herbalist's room where herbal teas and infusions are prepared according to ancestral recipes from Anatolia. Finally, a sound trail has been laid out on the island featuring a dozen vibratory and sound instruments that you or the natural elements activate. The Turkish architectural firm that designed the resort was instructed to respect the natural environment of the island. Some of the buildings have been built around existing trees.
