Champorcher, the main centre of the valley, is a group of scattered hamlets, the main one, Château, being named after a characteristic medieval tower. The village of Chardonney is the starting point for ski runs and hikes in the Mont Avic park. The ski resort of Champorcher, although small in size, has very interesting slopes both from a technical and natural point of view. A lift leaves from the hamlet of Chardonney (1,448 m) and arrives at the Laris plateau (1,930 m) where most of the runs start. The highest point is the Cimetta Rossa (2,500 m) from where many red runs and a long green run start. There are 19 runs, including 2 blue, 1 green, 13 red and 3 black. There is also a cross-country ski trail from Champorcher to Chardonney
