Clinging to the foothills of the Monte Corno Natural Park, Montagna enjoys sunny conditions, ideal for growing pinot noir. This quiet little town with its steep streets overlooks the Adige valley, and is itself dominated by the castle of the former lords of Enna, built in the 12thcentury and now privately owned. Cobbled streets and traditional houses characterize this pretty village. Around 1,700 people live here year-round. The villages of Gschnon, Kaltenbrunn, Kalditsch, Glen and Pinzon are also part of the Montagna municipality.
