A well-known winter ski resort, Andalo lies at over 1,000 m altitude in a wide valley between the Dolomites of Brenta and the Paganella ski area. In summer, hiking trails allow you to discover the beautiful Brenta Dolomites massif. On the north-western slopes of the Paganella, a small, exceptional ski area (2,125 m a.s.l.) boasts constant snow cover and impeccable maintenance over 50 km. It extends mainly around Andalo and the small village of Santel. The pride of the ski area remains the "3-Tre" run, which has been the scene of epic performances by the world's greatest ski champions. The "Olympique 2" black run has become the European training center for the U.S. international ski team. Several national ski teams (Italy, Norway, etc.) come here to train, and the village boasts excellent hotel, sports and leisure facilities (ski lifts and several ski slopes nearby).Via Ferrata delle Aquile. This new via ferrata ("of the eagles" in French) is located at the top of Mount Paganella (the start is at the top of the cable car). It's truly spectacular; short, the ascent takes just 2h30, but it's difficult. And with good reason: one passage is literally suspended between two rocky peaks, a veritable eagle's nest!
