3794 inhabitants. Only 5 kilometres from Manresa, this municipality is divided into two urban centres: Vilomara Bridge, which occupies the lower part, and Rocafort, which rises to an altitude of 400 metres. The latter presents a modest but harmonious historical centre built with pretty stone houses and steep alleys. Its late Gothic church dedicated to Santa Maria retains some elements that reveal its Romanesque origin. On Carrer Major, you can take a brief look at the small Rocafort museum, which looks back at the history of the village (visits on Sundays from 12pm to 3pm by appointment at +34 937 255 062, free). Pont de Vilomara also preserves an elegant 12th century Gothic bridge built over the waters of the Llobregat. But most of all, you will come to the region to follow the tines of the Flequer valley, which is dotted with surprising dry-stone buildings. The municipality, located in the geological environment of the former Sant Llorenç del Munt delta, provides access to the northeast of the Sant Llorenç del Munt natural park where the route begins.
