With its 34,000 inhabitants, Cambrils is the second most populated municipality of the Baix Camp, a county of which Reus is the capital. It is a large town, which has made its living from fishing, a sector that has been overtaken by tourism since the 1960s. It has 9 km of fine sandy beaches (which slope gently down to the sea, making it easier for children to swim) and a long, pretty promenade with restaurants and bars. Cambrils has many assets that make it a pleasant vacation town: beaches, a varied and quality hotel offer ideal for families, good restaurants (including two Michelin starred restaurants, making Cambrils the gastronomic capital of the Costa Daurada), human dimensions, interesting historical heritage and a rich cultural program throughout the year as well as gastronomy: Cambrils has elaborated a yearly gastronomic calendar that offers different days to taste the products and recipes of the season.
