9,300 inhabitants. Its history is linked to the exploitation and trade in sandstone, used in the 19th and early 20th centuries as a building material, but also to the exploitation of fossiliferous limestone, a stone now marketed under the name "Sant Vicenç". Crossing the river, you can access the site of the "Russian Muntanyes", one of the great geological attractions of the Geopark! A curious landscape of blue marls and badlands (surprising eroded mounds!) drawn by water erosion through rocks that formed in the deepest waters of the Eocene Sea (about 37 to 40 million years ago!). On these cliffs of more than 50 metres high, stand the remains of the castle of Castellet (11th century), as well as the hermitage of Santa Maria de Castellet. The Vallhonesta Road (a village in the municipality of Sant Vincenç) is another recommended route that invites you to explore the rugged landscapes of the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac Natural Park, of which Sant Vicenç de Castellet is one of the entrance gates. And if you visit the region on Easter Sunday, you won't miss the great popular gypsy ball with more than 200 dancers.
