193 inhabitants. On the royal road that once linked Barcelona to Berga, this picturesque village surrounded by green hills that the road follows its curves, preserves a small intact medieval centre dressed in stone houses and steep alleys. It rises in the heart of the Rossinyol Mountains on a hill 552 metres high crowned by its imposing castle and its Romanesque church dedicated to Santa Maria. In August 1714, the village made history by signing the last Catalan victory of the War of Succession in the Battle of Talamanca. The wild and fascinating landscapes of the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac Natural Park are revealed at the gates of the village, making Talamanca a privileged access point to the northern entrance of the natural park integrated into the Geopark.
