Valkenburg (Fauquemont in French) is a small tourist and historical town in the south of the province of Limburg. One comes here for a successful interlude made of visits (museums and monuments), shopping (especially at Christmas time) and oxygenated walk a little out of time. The city is famous for its cycling circuits with hilly roads. The nickname of the city is "Christmas City". During this period, the city is decorated with a thousand lights. A Christmas parade is organized and several Christmas markets take place. The most famous are the Velvet Grotto and the Municipal Grotto. Valkenburg is synonymous with a unique interlude
