FLUWEELENGROT - VELVET CAVE

Incredible Grotte de Velours which is actually located under the ruins of the castle. This network of caves has been dug into the Marne river and has probably existed for about 1,000 years already! Its total length reaches 5 kilometers. During the French period, the cave played an important role as a chapel. During the Second World War, the cave was used as a hiding place during intense fighting. It was also used as a hospital for American soldiers.
