Geulpoort a medieval city gate, reconstruction under the desire to enhance the historical character

Originally a medieval gateway to the city, it was gradually demolished to disappear completely. It was rebuilt in 2014. This reconstruction is under the desire to enhance the historical character of Valkenburg. The plan is based on a model dating from the fourteenth century and includes an observation platform.The reconstruction may seem a little too polished for some but it has the merit of giving a certain historical character to this corner of the city. This reconstruction has helped to revitalize the tourist side of the city.
