Attached to the municipality of Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Les Planes d'Hostoles, with just over 1,700 inhabitants, did not gain independence until the 19th century. Straddling the Garrotxa Volcanic Park, its territory is irrigated by the river Brugent and boasts beautiful Mediterranean vegetation. The village's tourist attractions include some beautiful Romanesque churches and the castles of Puig-Alder and Hostoles. And if you come here on 25 July, the day of Saint James, the patron saint of the town, you will be lucky enough to see the classic giants parade, in a festive atmosphere of dancing and festivities.
