Attached to the municipality of Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Les Planes d'Hostoles, with just over 1,700 inhabitants, did not gain independence until the 19th century. Straddling the Garrotxa Volcanic Park, its territory is irrigated by the river Brugent and boasts beautiful Mediterranean vegetation.
