CHURCH OF SANT CRISTÒFOL DE LES PLANES D'HOSTOLES
Visit this gothic style church and admire a sculpture of Christ in baroque style by Modest Fluvià
The parish church of Sant Cristòfol is documented from the 12th century onwards. First destroyed by earthquakes in the 15th century, it was replaced by a Gothic-style church with a single nave and eight chapels. The second demolition took place during the civil war of 1936-1939. Rebuilt to a design by Barcelona architect and Gaudí disciple Lluís Bonet, it was consecrated in 1946. Inside the church is a Baroque-style sculpture of Christ, Sant Cristo Gros, created in 1987 by La Garrotxa artist Modest Fluvià.
