This small mountain town has only 100 inhabitants. But because of its location at an altitude of 1,539 m, it is the highest town in Catalonia. You will enjoy strolling along the Comaestreta stream that runs through the centre of the village and discovering its Romanesque heritage, at least as much as you will enjoy tasting the very good Catalan high mountain dishes of Can Borrell, where you can also stay. You can also take the opportunity to learn more about the clog, an emblematic object of the mountains, which has a small museum in Meranges that provides information about its role in the history and popular culture of the Catalan Cerdanya.
