Located northeast of Lafayette, this small town owes its name to Father Arnaud who bequeathed a large portion of land to build a church that would welcome both white and black populations. Arnaudville is called "the junction" because it is located at the exact intersection of the Fuselier and Teche bayous. It is also a major French-speaking community in Louisiana, with nearly 4 out of 10 people speaking Cajun French. In April, the Etouffée d'écrevisses festival is held here and is not to be missed. Also to be discovered: the programming of NUNU Collective and the local beers of Bayou Teche Brewing.
