Included in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area, the community of White Castle is located in the extreme southeast corner of Iberville Parish. Iberville Parish covers a portion of the Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge, located further north. White Castle's history is closely tied to the cypress lumber, sugar cane and eventually petrochemical industries. The community is also home to one of Louisiana's most famous plantations, Nottoway. Transformed into a small luxury resort, it offers tours, fine dining, lodging and a variety of services for groups and events.
