A small village of barely 200 souls, Darrow is located on the east bank of the Mississippi, just across from Donaldsonville, almost halfway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. The main reason for coming here is to explore its beautiful Houmas House plantation, which is its main point of interest. On the large site of Houmas House, there are also restaurants, including the gourmet table Latil's Landing Restaurant, a bed & breakfast with nearly a dozen rooms and suites of great comfort, and the Great River Road Museum which allows us to discover the history and importance of this major river axis that is the Mississippi.
