Aquinnah occupies the western tip of Martha's Vineyard. It is the most remote area of the island. Visitors flock here to observe its incredible cliffs that seem to burn in the sun. The town has also been recognized as the birthplace of the Wampanoag Native American tribe, which was decimated by 90% after the arrival of Europeans at Martha's Vineyard. You can reach Aquinnah by bike, but the road is steep and, with the incessant ballet of cars, the ride is no picnic. The best option is to take a taxi or the MVTA network. Line 5 makes 3 stops at Aquinnah: Wampanoag Tribe Stop, Town Hall and Gay Head Lighthouse
