It is here that many curious people disembark every day to discover the island. The presence of the piers for Cape Cod makes it the gateway for tourists. Vineyard Haven is part of Tisbury (not to be confused with West Tisbury), and the two names can be used interchangeably. Rather touristic, Vineyard Haven has nevertheless managed to keep its bohemian and wild character. Its nightlife is therefore less exciting than in Oak Bluffs or Edgartown. It has the air of a doll's village with its little cafés, its very cute shops and its tiny cinema, the Capawock Theatre, all lined up along Main Street.
