Mount Hermonit (altitude 1 2011 metres) is located opposite Valley of Tears, a huge valley that was the subject of intense fighting between Israel and Syria in 1973 during the Yom Kippur war. A fairly large memorial and amphitheatre - around which several tank carcasses are interspersed, for some repainted in bright colours - mark the end of the access road.
