The Banias, also known as the Hermon, is a river that originates in the Golan Heights and forms one of the two main sources of the Jordan River. The Banias Nature Reserve is the first major natural site to be visited from the neighboring Upper Galilee. Since 2010, a set of suspended footbridges (Banias Suspended Trail) has been set up to reach the site from the parking lot alongside road no. 99. Use of the trail is optional, but it makes for a wonderful way to explore the park's surroundings along the watercourse.
