Horbourg-Wihr is established on an ancient Gallo-Roman site. In the old part of the town, you can also admire 17th-century seigneurial farmhouses with imposing porches. The Romanesque church of Saint-Michel features a square keep dating from the 14th century. Inside, beautiful 16th-century murals (listed as Monuments Historiques) reveal details of the life of Saint Marguerite. Horbourg-Wihr is also part of the European Cultural Route of Heinrich Schickhardt (17th-century engineer, cartographer and town planner) and the famous Route Verte linking the Vosges to the Black Forest via Alsace.
