Travel Guide Mladeč

A short ten kilometers from the village of Litovel, the Mladeč Caves have been attracting archaeologists, cavers and the merely curious for over two hundred years. Discovered in 1826, more than one hectare of corridors, meanders, caves and rooms have been explored since then. The whole of these underground passages were dug more than 350,000 years ago, in the Devonian period, over a total of fifteen kilometers of which only a small part is accessible to visitors. Take advantage of your visit to the site to linger in the green surroundings, which have been classified as a natural park and offer many opportunities for hiking and sporting activities.
