Known in the 15th and 16th centuries for its pottery, which was exported throughout Europe, this village of less than 3,000 inhabitants is best known today for its cheese! In a country that produces so little of it, it would be a shame to leave the region without having tasted Olomoucké tvarůžky. The town's museum offers an unusual tour around these, developed by monks. Beware of sensitive palates, it is really strong in the nose as well as in the mouth. The tastings are often done plain, or in "spreadable" mixed with peppers, or paprika. In any case, it is a cold beer that will accompany the cheese and not a red wine.
