It is the main tourist center of southern Beskydy thanks to the open-air museum, a beautiful collection of traditional wooden buildings. The various local museums (the Skansen, named after the first museum of its kind in Sweden) are a must if you are interested in traditional architecture and woodworking. They were established in 1925 to showcase this architecture brought by the Vlachs and adapted to the region. The buildings are not reconstructions but pieces moved from surrounding villages. Buses connect Ostrava in 1 hour, Brno in 3 hours, Olomouc in 1 hour and 20 minutes and Prague (1 bus/day) in 5 hours and 30 minutes.
