It is a town with a population of about 2,000 inhabitants, which still preserves the remains of its 12th-century walls, including a very well-preserved tower. The village has two notable churches: the church of San Martín, built in the 13th century and later renovated, now houses the Municipal House of Culture; the church of Santa María, built in the 18th century on the remains of a Romanesque church, preserves a Baroque altarpiece above the main altar. The Ruta Vadiniense, a secondary route that connects the Camino Francès and the Camino del Norte, ends in Mansilla de las Mulas, making it possible to combine the two routes if you wish.
