The Picos de Europa are formed by three massifs: the Cornion massif, to the west, bounded by the valleys of the rivers Sella and Cares; the Andara massif, to the east, bordered by the rivers Deva and Duje; and the Urieles massif, in the centre, the most impressive and inhospitable of the three. The National Park, with a total area of 646 km², is spread over the regions of Asturias, Cantabria and León. Asturias encompasses 245 km² of the park. The park offers many opportunities for hiking. To see in particular, the mount Naranjo de Bulnes, the sanctuary of Covadonga and the Arenas de Cabrales. Do not forget that the mountain is unpredictable.
