Siasconset is a charming village, 7 miles from Nantucket, where the island's fishermen came for cod in the 17th century. It was also a meeting place for whalers. Their shanties have become popular homes for wealthy artists. You can get there by bike or bus. There's not much to do in Siasconset, except soak up the hippie chic atmosphere, visit the lighthouse and enjoy the idyllic view from the cliffs on the Bluff Walk... You can take an hour to stroll through the small town center, admire the houses, and perhaps take a stroll through the Sconset Market.
