You come here to discover a jewel of religious architecture. Imbach is a winegrowing village with the oldest two-aisled Gothic church in the German-speaking world. The village parish church, Pfarrkirch Imbach, was part of a Dominican monastery, which no longer exists. The only remaining building is the church, which dates from 1269 but was extensively rebuilt in the 17th century after a fire. This early Gothic construction is characterized by the concomitant presence of these two naves. The presence of two naves can be explained by the fact that one was reserved for the monks, the other for the faithful. This is at least a hypothesis.
