From the town centre you can go on several hiking trails between vineyards and forest, and even to the famous Benedictine abbey of Göttweig. It is a beautiful building from the 18th century in a privileged natural setting. The abbey was founded in the 11th century and became very famous in the Middle Ages. The present complex, designed by the architect Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt, has not been completed. However, don't forget the parish church, richly decorated in the flamboyant baroque style.
