Located on the western shore of Lake Como, between Como and Menaggio, Brienno is a tiny village clinging to the mountains. A charming stop-off point on the road between two village visits, it's a great place to stroll and discover the beauty of the area on foot. You can start by visiting the church of San Vittore (now Sant'Anna), which preserves visible traces of its original 11th-century structure and is one of the oldest on Lake Como. For lunch, in Brienno you'll find the Crotto dei Platani restaurant, one of the best on the lake. Romance is guaranteed! Reservations are strongly recommended in high season.
