What makes Gacé so beautiful? Its château, of course! Dating from the 12th and 15th centuries, and occupied by the Chouans in 1800, it now houses the town hall, the services of the communauté de communes, the "Dame aux Camélias" museum and the minerals and fossils museum. The town of 1,900 inhabitants is the ideal place to stop before entering the Pays d'Auge. Take the opportunity to stroll through the narrow streets around the château, before enjoying lunch at one of the town's fine restaurants. The surrounding countryside is pleasant and boasts Normandy's main asset: its greenery!
